Using turn signals important in roundabouts

“Use your right turn signal before exiting” is a very seldom-used rule at all roundabouts in Langley.

The roads have been paved and sidewalks put in as work continues on the new roundabout at 232 Street and 56 Avenue. Councillor Kim Richter expressed concern at the June 18 meeting that there was ‘no action’ happening on the project.

Editor: The website posted by The Times (July 2) regarding roundabout usage was very interesting.

Of particular note was Rule #4, “use your right turn signal before exiting.” This is a very seldom-used rule at all roundabouts in Langley.

Because of this, it turns the roundabout into a two-way stop for everyone else, waiting to guess where non-compliant drivers are going to exit.

The Motor  Vehicle Act, section 170, proffers a fine of $121 and two penalty points for not using turn signals in a roundabout. Let’s start using them, eh?
