Back-to-back wins in Prince George mean the Langley Rivermen will be part of the chase for the Fred Page Cup.
Torrin White scored the double overtime winner on Thursday night in a 5-4 victory over the Prince George Spruce Kings.
The Rivermen then struck for three third-period goals the next night to break a 2-2 tie and down the host Spruce Kings by a 5-2 score.
With the wins, the junior A hockey club improved to 25-17-1-1 and their 52 points have them in third place in the BCHL's Mainland Division, just one back of the second-place Wenatchee Wild.
The first win featured a couple of big goals for the Langley Rivermen as Austin Crookshank scored on his first BCHL shift. And later in the game, defenceman Alec Capstick also potted his first career BCHL goal.
Max Kaufman and Jason O'Neill had the other Langley goals before White ended it in double overtime.
Bo Didur stopped 38 shots in goal for the win.
Nick Trenciansky got the call in game two and came through with 28 saves.
The Rivermen were ahead 2-0 late in the second on goals from Will Campion and Matthew Graham but Prince George took advantage of some Langley penalty troubles to score power-play goals 23 seconds apart just before intermission. The first of those goals came with Langley two men down.
But the Rivermen showed their own quick-strike offence as White and Donovan Shambeau struck for goals 25 seconds apart.
Shambeau's goal was also his first in the BCHL.
Matty Saharchuk rounded out the scoring.
White now has four goals and four assists in his past four games.
