White Rock's Chris Barth blew away the field, taking top spot at the Peninsula Runners' Fraser Valley Trail Series event on March 1. Barth finished the Fort to Fort half marathon in 1:22:04, the top time among all the competitors.

One hundred and seventy-four runners took part in the final installment of the Peninsula Runners' Fraser Valley Trail Running Series.

The event was held on March 1 and saw runners complete either the Fort to Fort half marathon (48 runners) or the 8-km run (126 runners).

The overall winners were White Rock's Chris Barth (1:22:04) for the men's participants, and on the female side, it was Vancouver's Andrea Taylor (1:40:45) in their respective half marathons.

And in the 8-km race, Surrey's Tyler Ginther won with a time of 28:40 and Olivia Willett of Coquitlam was the top female at 32:14.

Chris Barth (White Rock) 1:22:04 and Sherri Todd (Langley) 1:51:33

Robert Durrant (Langley) 1:28:02 and Joanie Proske (Langley) 2:08:06

Ages 60-69:

Norm Angell (Aldergrove) 1:53:27 and Pippa Wall (Vancouver) 2:40:50

Ages 70-79:

Liz Dilasser (Surrey) 1:59:50

Ages 19 and under:

Joshua Krauchi (Maple Ridge) 37:00 and Olivia Willett (Coquitlam) 32:14

Ages 20-29:

Myles Krauchi (Abbotsford) 37:00 and Kate McKinnon (Langley) 36:01

Ages 30-39:

Benjamin Schmitt (Chilliwack) 30:08 and Corinne Issel (White Rock) 33:19

Ages 40-49:

Tyler Ginther (Surrey) 28:40 and Wendy Wiseman (Surrey) 44:05

Ages 50-59:

Gordon Flett (Vancouver) 36:47 and Jayne Nelson (Surrey) 42:11

Ages 60-69:

Gerry Van Gaans (Coquitlam) 35:20 and Barbara Kawasaki (Surrey) 48:26

Brian Parkinson (Langley) 45:33

And while the Trail Running Series is complete, the next Peninsula Runners' event is the Golden Ears Half Marathon and 10-km run, which spans Pitt Meadows and Langley. The race will be on March 15.
