The Langley Thunder added yet another weapon to their arsenal with the announcement that Garrett Billings will be back in uniform for the 2012 senior A lacrosse season.
"You pair Garrett with Lewis (Ratcliff) and Athan (Iannucci) and we have a potentially devastating offensive line-up," said Langley Thunder governor Rob Buchan.
Ratcliff was acquired via trade earlier this off-season while Iannucci led Langley in scoring in 2011. In 110 career senior A games, Iannucci has 193 goals and 389 points.
Ratcliff has 349 goals and 745 points in 137 career Western Lacrosse Association games.
Both are former league scoring champs.
Buchan said the team has been working on bringing Billings back into the fold for quite some time.
Billings is a Langley Minor Lacrosse Association product and previously played for the Thunder. Billings, who works in Toronto, spent last summer playing back east.
Without Billings, the Thunder captured their first WLA title but fell in the Mann Cup finals, in five games, to Brampton.
Billings is arguably one of the world's top lacrosse players, having played for Canada on a world stage. This past season with the Toronto Rock of the National Lacrosse League, he set a single-season league record with 82 assists and was runner-up for the most valuable player award.
The Thunder open the season on the road on May 20 in Nanaimo and play their home opener at the Langley Events Centre on May 23 against the Burnaby Lakers.
