Blaze fielding bantam prep team

Langley looking for 13 and 14-year-old players for new program beginning in September

The Langley Blaze are looking for bantam (ages 13 and 14) players for a new prep team.

The year-round program will begin in September and is open for players in Langley, Aldergrove, Cloverdale and Maple Ridge.

The team will play out of McLeod Park and use the Blaze indoor facility during the winter and the program will also be tied in to the Langley Secondary baseball academy.

They will play a schedule against other Premier prep teams, as well as some competition against Washington state squads. There will also likely be tournaments in Arizona and California.

The program will be run by former college player and Blaze alumni Russ Kennedy. Also coaching will be Jamie Bodaly (hitting co-ordinator), Brook Foster (catching), Kevin Lum (infield) and Doug Mathieson (pitching). Mike Ellis will serve as pitching co-ordinator.
