The Langley Blaze offence scored 34 runs in three games, and not surprisingly, won all three.

The one blemish was a 4-0 shutout loss, but the Premier baseball league team has now won eight of their past 10 games.

The Blaze lost 4-0 to the Abbotsford Cardinals on May 19 at McLeod Athletic Park before heading out to Nanaimo to pound the Pirates 12-0 and 9-8 on Saturday. Langley was back in action on Tuesday, hammering the Whalley Chiefs 13-3 at McLeod Park.

The team sits third in the BC Premier Baseball League with a 15-6 mark.

Langley trailed the Chiefs 3-2 heading into the bottom of the third inning but scored six times in their half of the inning and tacked on another five in the fifth to win by double digits.

Danny Berg led the offence with three hits, three runs scored and a pair of RBIs.

The trio of Dawson Gray, Jake Christensen and Jayden Knight each drove in a pair of runs.

Jacob Baker earned the win, striking out three and allowing just one hit over 2.2 innings.

In Nanaimo on Saturday, Kyle Prather pitched a one-hitter in the shutout opener while Daniel Martin belted a solo home run. He finished with three hits and three runs scored.

Gus Wilson, Gray and Michael O’Toole all had a pair of RBIs apiece.

The rematch was a back-and-forth affair.

Nanaimo led 3-0 after one before Langley tied the score at four after five innings.

The Blaze led 6-4 after the top of the sixth inning but the Pirates scored four in their half of the inning and led 8-6.

Langley cut the lead to 8-7 in the seventh and were one out away from defeat but the Blaze capitalized on a pair of Pirate errors to score two unearned run for the 9-8 win.

Cole Cantelon finished the game with a pair of RBIs while Marshall Luiz, Martin and Berg brought home one run apiece.

Kyle Gee picked up the win, allowing four runs over 4.2 innings.

Against the Cardinals, the Blaze stranded seven base-runners in the 4-0 loss.

Langley is back in action with a pair of doubleheaders this weekend at McLeod Park.

On Saturday (1 and 3:30 p.m.) the Pirates visit Langley while on Sunday (11 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.), the Parksville Royals are the opponent.
