Langley Blaze's Kyle Prather — in action during a game earlier this year at McLeod Park — picked up the win on Tuesday after combing with Kyle Ross in a 1-0 shut-out victory over Victoria. The Blaze have won eight straight games.

Langley’s Kyle Prather and Kyle Ross combined to toss a shutout in a game one 1-0 victory while the second end of the doubleheader saw the Blaze bats explode for a 10-2 win.

The Blaze were in Victoria on Tuesday afternoon to face the Eagles, pushing their winning streak to eight games while climbing just 2.5 games back of the North Shore Twins for top spot in the B.C. Premier Baseball League. Langley is 23-10.

Game one’s only run came in the top of the first inning with Jonny Hozma’s single to centre scoring Daniel Berg.

Prather struck out four over 4.2 innings for the win while Ross came on in the fifth inning with two outs and retired seven of the eight batters he faced for the save.

Game two saw much more offence as Langley took advantage of five Eagles errors to score 10 runs on just seven hits.

Marshall Luiz led the way with three RBIs while Brock Wickins and Hozma each brought home a pair of runners.

Aiden Mordecai went four solid innings, allowing just two runs.

Yi-An Pan pitched the final three.

Langley also won all four games over the weekend, defeating Coquitlam 6-1 and 8-1 and White Rock 11-3 and 10-4.

The Blaze have a pair of doubleheaders this weekend, Saturday in Coquitlam and Sunday in North Delta.
