The Brookswood Bobcats are in the final four.

The senior girls' basketball team used a strong second quarter to build a 19-point lead en route to a 71-50 win over the Yale Lions in the quarter-finals of the B.C. AAA provincial basketball championships at North Vancouver's Capilano University.

They face the York House Tigers.

The other semifinal features the Riverside Rapids and the South Kamloops Titans.

A big advantage for the Bobcats against Yale was the free throw line as they hit 22-of-32 from the charity stripe. By comparison, the Lions only had 14 attempts and made just six.

As was the case in the team's opening round 84-28 win over the Prince George Polars, Tayla Jackson and Jessie Brown led the way.

Jackson scored 17 and Brown had 14 to lead a balanced attack.
