St. Paddy’s Day wasn’t lucky for the Langley-based Vancouver Stealth, who fell to the Buffalo Bandits (15-11) in an away game on Friday, March 17.
Next, they’re off to Toronto, to play against the Rock this Saturday, March 25, then back home for a game on Friday, March 31.
The Stealth (5-7 in the season) lost to the Buffalo Bandits, 15-11.
It was a tale of two halves inside the Langley Events Centre on Friday night, said media spokesperson Trevor McManus.
The first half saw the Stealth coming from behind multiple times. After scoring the first goal of the game, Vancouver trailed for the better half of the first.
But a three-goal run in the second put them up 6-5. Moments later, the Bandits tied the game 6-6. But with just seconds remaining on the clock, Rhys Duch found the back of the net, scoring a power play goal to put Vancouver up 7-6 after 30 minutes.
Buffalo came blazing out of the gates in the third quarter scoring six goals, McManus reported.
Their momentum continued into the fourth where they added two more before Vancouver went on a run of their own.

Corey Small led the charge scoring a pair of goals late in the quarter followed by Peter McFetridge and Jordan Durston. The run ended at 11 goals for the Stealth.
“We went through the slump, that isn’t on the D, that is on the O, we needed to start the comeback,” said James Rahe.
“I think we just came out a little flat and a little too comfortable. There were a of couple shots that did not drop, but that is lacrosse, sometimes you have the luck and sometimes, nights like this happen,” he added.
Small continued his hot hand scoring three goals and three assists, while Jordan Durston added a hat trick of his own.
Vancouver currently sits second in the West and fourth overall in the league in goals for heading into their matchup against the Rush.
“There is a built-in rivalry with Toronto,” said general manager Doug Locker.
“We are going to look over the tape and see what Colorado did right against the Rock this evening and we will go from there.”
The Stealth will head on the road for the beginning of the home-and-home against the Toronto Rock on March 25.
They will be back inside the Langley Events Centre the following week to host the Rock for the first time this season.
