Langley United U-15 soccer boys came close to taking the game into overtime against Coquitlam Strikers in Coastal Cup finals at Aldergrove Athletic Park on Saturday, May 2.

The two teams had each won a regular season game against each other, so it could easily have gone either way at the finals.

The Strikers capitalized on their opportunities in the first half to take a 2-0 lead at the start of the second half. Three of Langley's shots had hit the crossbar and posts in the first half.

Langley came back with a goal on a mad scramble for the corner kick early in the second, and kept the pressure up for the equalizer, which never came.

The Strikers took the Coastal Cup for the U-15 boys, however, both Langley and Coquitlam will advance to the Provincial Cup finals in 100 Mile House.
