With the regular season entering the final week, both the Mountain Eagles and Walnut Grove Gators find themselves in the mix for top spot.

Both teams sport records of three wins and one loss with one game to play in the senior boys 3A Fraser Valley East Zone.

The Gators lone loss came on Sept. 28 when Mountain prevailed 2-1 while the Eagles suffered a 3-2 defeat to the Abbotsford Panthers.

Both Mountain and Walnut Grove are tied with the Sardis Falcons (3-0-0) for first place and each team gets a crack at the unbeaten Falcons.

Walnut Grove plays at Sardis on Oct. 11 while the Falcons play at Willoughby Community Park on Oct. 13 against the Eagles.

The teams then play the divisional playoffs the following week to determine which teams advance to the Fraser Valley championships.
