Caitlin Payne and a group of volunteers helped young skaters try out ringette on Aug. 13 at the Sportsplex ice arena in Walnut Grove.
Payne, an 18-year-old coach and player, organized free sessions allowing youngsters to try out ringette with the Fraser Valley Ringette Association.
Payne, who plays for B.C.’s ringette team and has been coaching since she was 13, said there were a number of children who signed up in advance and more who dropped in during the course of the morning. Visit fvringette.com.
