Gold, silver and bronze for Spartan athletes at nationals

Trinity Western track and field athletes find podium for Team BC in Moncton

It was a medal of each colour for local athletes representing Team BC.

Leah Robinson won gold, Sabrina Nettey captured silver and Katelynn Rampage won the bronze medal at the Canadian track and field championships.

The trio were among the several members of the Trinity Western Spartans track and field team which was representing Team BC at the national championships in Moncton, N.B. The meet ran June 27 to June 29.

Robinson took gold in the 400m ambulatory T36 race, setting a new Canadian record at 1:13.19.

Nettey leapt 6.00m, finishing behind just her sister, Christabel Nettey, who set a Canadian championships record of 6.64m.

And Ramage was third in the 2000m race walk, crossing the finish line in 1:54.24.

On the men's side, Nathan George just missed the podium, placing fourth in the 400m with a time of 46.69, a new personal best.
