Two more victories pushed the Langley Knights winning streak to five games and has helped the junior B hockey squad open up a six-point lead atop the standings as the season hits the quarter mark.
The Knights sit at 8-3-0-0 after doubling the Grandview Steelers 6-3 on Thursday night at the George Preston Recreation Centre and then posting a 4-2 victory over the Mission City Outlaws on Saturday night at the Mission Leisure Centre.
Against the Steelers, Jacob Fricks broke a 3-3 tie early in the third and Dylan McCann scored twice in the final three minutes.
Carson Rose, Alex Kalau and Levi De Waal had the other goals while Cole Forbes stopped 32 shots in the victory.
In Mission two nights later, Langley won their second straight road game — after losing their first three — thanks to a pair of goals from Tristan Craighead.
The Outlaws had led 2-0 late in the first before the Knights scored the final four goals of the game.
Craighead's first made it 2-1 after 20 minutes and Jackson Surbey scored on the power play to even things up at two after two periods.
Mitchell Biermann potted the winner early in the third and Craighead's second — on the power play — added some insurance.
Nickolas Trenciansky stopped 27 of the 29 shots he faced.
The Knights host the Aldergrove Kodiaks on Thursday (Oct. 23) at the Preston Centre.
