Participants are encouraged to shoot three-pointers at the ninth annual Hoopfest BC.
That's because for every three-pointer made at the event, $1 will be donated to KidSport.
This will be the first year of the initiative. Had it been done last year, $259 was donated to the organization, which helps remove financial barriers to help kids play organized sports.
The ninth edition of Hoopfest runs Aug. 17 and 18 at the Langley Events Centre fieldhouse.
The tournament has featured some prominent players in the past, including former Trinity Western Spartans star Jake Doerksen, who now plays professionally in Germany.
Last year's tournament also featured a women's division for the first time, which was won by the Flaming Mama's, who scored a lopsided 97-36 win over CapQuest in the finals.
The men's final was much closer with the Runnin Rebels' winning the title, 84-82 over Athelite. It was the team's second title as they also won in 2010.
The other six men's division titles had gone to The School, a team consisting of former high school players from around the Fraser Valley.
