Aldergrove Kodiaks’ Kenny Prato gets in close on a short-handed breakaway that was stopped by Port Moody Panthers’ goalie Angus Redmond in a 4-3 overtime win for Kodiaks at the Aldergrove Arena. Redmond earned the game’s third star for stopping 55 of 59 shots on goal that night.

A date with the league's top team ended the Aldergrove Kodiaks' season-high four-game winning streak.

The Kodiaks were at the Ladner Leisure Centre on Nov. 13, but could not hold on to a 2-1 first-period lead in PIJHL junior B hockey action.

Jackson Waniek and Ryan Ziadie had put the visitors ahead but Jeremy Gossard tied the score shortly after and then Alex Martin scored the game-winner late in the second period.

Marc Letourneau opened the scoring for the Ice Hawks, who improved to 17-2-0-1.

The Kodiaks were riding a winning streak thanks to a pair of overtime victories last week against the last-place and first-place teams in their conference, respectively.

Aldergrove beat the last-place Port Moody Panthers 4-3 on Nov. 7 at the Aldergrove Arena and followed that up with a 3-2 win over the first-place Abbotsford Pilots on Nov. 9 at MSA Arena.

The Kodiaks are five points back of the Pilots for top spot in the Harold Brittain Conference.

Against Abbotsford, Stefan Gonzales scored 3:25 into double overtime.

Tyson Solotki had forced overtime with 8:35 remaining.

Samuel Ramsay had the team's other goal.

Mark Menicucci made 38 saves in the win.

Against the Panthers in the previous game, the Kodiaks ran into a hot goalie as Angus Redmond turned aside 55 of the 59 shots he faced.

Roshen Jaswal played overtime hero, striking 43 seconds into the extra frame.

Stephen Ryan, Scott McHaffie and Brandon Dolby had the other Aldergrove goals.
