Blanked the game before, the Langley Junior Blaze rediscovered their offence in a big way.
Langley — which had scored 20 runs in their first two games before putting up a goose egg in game three — responded with nine runs as they pounded the Victoria Junior Eagles 9-1.
The game was played at Victoria’s Lambrick Park on Wednesday (April 26) with the victory improving Langley to 3-2 in the BC Junior Premier Baseball League.
The Blaze offence was on fire early as they scored runs in each of the first three innings, including four in the top half of the first.
Altogether, Langley pounded out 16 hits, including three from Brandon Nicoll and two apiece off the bat of Carson Chorpita, Brendan Winning, Nick Holdershaw and Alex Wright.
Winning and Wright each also had two RBIs.
Terrell Rogers was masterful on the mound, striking out eight and allowing just one hits over five innings.
Ryan Beitel pitched the final two innings, striking out three and allowing one run.
The Blaze have a busy weekend ahead as they host the North Shore Junior Twins on Saturday (April 29) at McLeod Athletic Park at noon and 2:30 p.m. before another doubleheader the next day at UBC against the Junior Thunder.
