Langley bantam Traktors harvest gold

A Langley bantam C hockey team went undefeated at a tournament in North Vancouver during the holiday weekend.

The Langley Traktors took top spot at a tournament in North Vancouver.

The Langley bantam C Traktors plowed through the competition over the Thanksgiving Day long weekend.

From Oct. 8 to 10, the Traktors competed in the North Vancouver Minor Hockey Association Thanksgiving Tournament and rolled to a perfect 5-0 record, en route to a convincing 7-0 victory over Coquitlam in the final game.

Over the course of the tournament the Traktors outscored their collective opposition by a 31-5 count, with goalie Van Dayton posting two shutouts along the way. The team was led in scoring by Henry Brawdy and Keith Stanworth and relied on a very aggressive defence of Logan Schigas, Geoffrey Chattell, Kyson Burgart and Ryan Davie.

Lucas Guiotto recorded a hat trick in the championship game.

The team also included Dayton King, Adam Gjesdal, Trevor James, Gavin Drake, Johnathan Lennox, and Sean Wade.

Coaches are Chris Brawdy, Michael Schigas, and Steve Gilray.
