Langley eight chosen for Border Battle

Eight Langley football players are playing for provincial bragging rights.

The eight — Connor Hurley, Zander Bailey, Joshua Fletcher, Joe Nickel, Travis Evans, Ryan Kiess, Kaycen Horan and Nick Lacroix — have been selected to participate in the All Canada Gridiron (ACG) Alberta B.C. Border Bowl.

The game features the top players from B.C. against their Alberta counterparts.

There are four divisions: Young Stars (Grades 6/7), Future Stars (Grade 8/9). Rising Selects (Grade 9/10) and Rising Stars (Grade 10/11).

Nickel, Fletcher, Hurley and Lacroix are in the Rising Selects game while Horan is in the Young Stars contest. Kiess, Evans and Bailey will be part of the Rising Stars.

All four games are at the Greater Vernon Athletics Park next week (May 28).
