Langley Figure Skating Club wins gold, bronze

The Langley Figure Skating Club won a pair of medals at the Skate Canada mountain regional synchronized skating championships. The club's junior team (above) won gold while the senior team (below) took bronze in their respective divisions. And the LFSC senior team won bronze in the pre-novice division. The team of eight skaters, between the ages of 13 and 16, skated to ‘Shattered.’ The club has one more competition at the end of this month.

The Langley Figure Skating Club used home-ice to their advantage in capturing a pair of medals.

The club was competing at the Skate Canada mountain regional synchronized skating championships Jan. 31 and Feb. 1 at the George Preston Recreation Centre.

The club’s junior team — performing a disco theme — won gold in the elementary division. The team of eight skaters is between the ages of seven and 12.

And the LFSC senior team won bronze in the pre-novice division. The team of eight skaters, between the ages of 13 and 16, skated to ‘Shattered.’

The club has one more competition at the end of this month.
