Langley Junior Thunder set to roll Thursday

Burnaby visits Langley for junior lacrosse action June 30.

Langley Junior Thunder play Burnaby at 8 p.m. on Thursday as they push to qualify for the playoffs.

“It would be nice to have Langley people coming out to cheer us on,” said head coach Shaun Springett.

The team sits in fifth place in the B.C. Junior Lacrosse League and had a good weekend on the road, to put them 8-10.

The Minto Cup comes to the Langley Events Centre in August and the Junior Thunder are pushing to qualify.

“We’ve been three years without a playoff spot,” he noted.

The team has been moving up the rankings during the season and has three games left in regular play.

“It’s our biggest game of our year,” he said of Thursday evenings match at the Langley Events Centre.
