Langley Olympian takes four gold at BC Games

Severen Parr of the Langley Olympians Swim Club won four gold medals at the BC Summer Games held in the Cowichan Valley from July 20-22.

The 14-year-old finished first in the 50m Freestyle with a time of 28.33, the 200m Freestyle with a time of2:13.30, the 400m Freestyle with a time of 3:38.59 and the 100m Freestyle with a time of 1:01.25. Severen also won a bronze medal in the 1500m Freestyle with a time of 19:16.59 and swam 100 per cent best times in all events (It means that a swimmer set a new personal best time in every event that they swam in a meet).

Olympians member Katelyn Schroeder, 12 won two Bronze medals and also broke two club records in the 200m Backstroke with a time of 2:26.45 and she won her second bronze in the 800m Freestyle with a time of 9:59.37. She also broke the club record in the 100m Backstroke with a time of 1:08.23S

Gracie Maryschak, 12, won a silver medal in the 400m Individual Medley with a time of 5.22.07. Gracie also broke the club record in the 1500m Freestyle with a time of 19:31.25.

Luke Stewart-Beinder, 13, won a Bronze medal in the 400m Freestyle with a time of 4:27.63.

Danika Bedard, 14, and Tyler Friesen, 13, both swam 100 per cent best times.
