Langley's Dorothy Ludwig finished 34th in the women's 10-metre air pistol competition at the Olympic Games in London.
Ludwig posted a total score of 376 in the qualification round on Sunday but failed to advance to the final.
China's Guo Wenjun earned the gold with a score of 488.1 while France's Celine Goberville took silver and Ukraine's Olena Kostevych won bronze.
"I shot well, but not well enough," Ludwig said via Facebook to The Times.
"(But) I am happy with my performance and have immersed myself in the Olympic experience.
"This has been an amazing experience and I have been so fortunate to be able to compete with the best in the world and be able to hold my own out there.
"Of course I owe so much my my family, some of whom made the journey to London with me, and some who cheered from home. A big thank
you to everyone who believed in me," she added.
The 33-year-old Ludwig was making her Olympic debut. She earned Canada a spot in the event after winning gold at the Pan American Games in Mexico back in October.
She then defeated her sister, Lynda Kiejko and Lea Wachowich at the Canadian trials in March to win the right to represent Canada.
