Olympians impress at Chilliwack meet

Strong showing for Langley Olympians Swim Club members

It was an impressive showing for the Langley Olympians Swim Club over the weekend.

The club was competing at the Chilliwack Leisure Centre at the B.C. AA short course championships.

The Olympians sent a team of eight swimmers to the event, all of whom were attempting to achieve their AAA qualifying times for the provincial championships next month.

And the trio of 12-year-old Meredith Clark, 11-year-old Mackenzie Dong and 11-year-old Jenessa Hillman all achieved their AAA qualifying times.

All three also medaled, with Dong winning three silver in the 200 IM, 200 free and 400 IM and bronze in the 200 breast.

Clark won silver in the 800 free and bronze in the 200 fly and 400 IM and Hillman won bronze in the 400 free and 800 free.

Clark, Fong and 10-year-old Ellen Lansing also achieved personal bests in all of their races, while eight-year-old Hugh McNeill set new Olympian club records in the 20 free, 200 back and 200 IM.
