Langley Junior Thunder captain James Rahe faced a double team against the Coquitlam Junior Adanacs during B.C. Junior A Lacrosse League action at the Langley Events Centre on June 5. Rahe was named the league's first star of the week after scoring 12 goals and 17 points in three games last week.

For two periods, the Langley Junior Thunder were all even with the New Westminster Junior Salmonbellies, the top team in the B.C. Junior A Lacrosse League.

But the Salmonbellies scored seven times in the third period to win 16-9 and improve to 17-1 on the season. The Thunder fell to 5-13-1.

The game was played Tuesday (June 24) at Queen's Park Arena.

Langley led by a goal just past the midway point of the game, before the Salmonbellies struck for 11 of the final 14 goals.

Brendan Mykle-Winkler (three goals, two assists), James Rahe (two goals, two assists) and Alex Gibbs (one goal, four assists) led the Thunder.

For New Westminster, Josh Byrne did the most damage with six goals and eight points.

And former Langley Intermediate Thunder — and Langley Minor Lacrosse Association product — Johnny Pearson chipped in with a goal and five assists.

Langley travels to play the Junior Timbermen at Nanaimo's Frank Crane Arena on June 28.
