Stafford Skyhawks’ Htoo Htoo Eh sidesteps a tackle during the Skyhawks’ 46-6 victory over Heritage Park in Grade 8 AA playoff football action at McLeod Athletic Park on Monday (Nov. 14).

The Stafford Skyhawks are getting another shot at a team which beat them just two weeks ago.

The Skyhawks Grade 7/8 football team defeated Heritage Park 46-6 on Nov. 14 with the victory advancing Stafford to the AA provincial semifinals.

That game will be played Nov. 21 at McLeod Athletic Park against the Seaquam Skyhawks.

“It was great to get some of our younger players some playoff experience, that will benefit our program moving forward,” said Stafford coach Reyhan Safiq.

“We have a very tough game coming up against a well-coached Seaquam team (who) beat us handily two weeks ago. I’m excited to see how our boys rise to the occasion and play with pride on Monday.”

In the victory over Heritage Park, Xachery Romanchych rushed for two touchdowns while also catching a touchdown pass.

Htoo Htoo Eh also came up with a touchdown catch to go along with more than 100 yards receiving.

And Jesse Tomica scored a pair of touchdowns along the ground, in addition to playing very well on both sides of the ball.

Both Stafford quarterbacks — Edan Lewis and Caleb Faust — threw a touchdown pass in the victory.
