Rob Buchan missed out on Jacob Taylor at the Western Lacrosse Association draft, but remedied that by rather quickly.

“I was disappointed not to secure Jacob at the 2017 WLA draft. (So) the next day I went to work to rectify the sitution,” said Buchan, the Langley Thunder general manager. “Jake is a Langley kid who belongs in a Thunder jersey.”

Taylor was drafted in the second round, 14th overall by the Coquitlam Adanacs in the February draft. Langley sent Coquitlam the Thunder’s third-round pick in the 2019 draft, Connor Stroup and Tor Reinholt.

Taylor appeared in 76 games in the BC Junior A Lacrosse League, finishing with 29 goals and 88 points. He helped Coquitlam capture the Minto Cup last summer.

The Thunder open the WLA season on May 19 and play their home opener at the Langley Events centre on May 31.
