Twins cool Blaze in pitchers' duel

North Shore scores game's only run in first inning to edge Langley Blaze

One run was all the North Shore Twins needed as they edged the Langley Blaze in a pitchers' duel.

Taylor Wright drove home Nicholas Carusi in the bottom of the first inning and that run was the difference on Tuesday night at Parkgate Park in B.C. U18 Premier Baseball League action.

Matteo Vincelli made that run stand up as he scattered four hits over seven innings, striking out nine Blaze batters.

Parker Logan took the loss, allowing four hits while striking out three over six innings.

North Shore (21-6) stretched their lead to 1.5 games over the Blaze (22-10) for top spot in the league.

Langley's next league game is June 26 when they host the Abbotsford Cardinals at McLeod Park.
