The Trinity Western Spartans were done in by the final 20 minutes of their hockey game against the Okanagan Coyotes.
Playing a B.C. Intercollegiate Hockey League game in Kelowna, the Spartans were tied at two following 40 minutes of play.
But the Coyotes outscored the Spartans 4-1 in the third to win 6-3.
“We had a hard fought first two periods but in the third period, we couldn’t quite get it done,” said Trinity Western coach Dwayne Lowdermilk.
“It wasn’t for a lack of effort, but unfortunately, it didn’t go our way tonight.”
Matt Chaput scored twice for the Spartans while Jordan Magnusson had the other.
