VIDEO: Junior golfers teed off at MJT’s Lindsay Kenney Classic in Langley

Euna Han was unstoppable over the weekend.

The 14-year-old from Coquitlam shot blistering rounds of 65 and 66 to win by an eye-popping 17 strokes over second-place finisher Emma Yang of Langley.

Yang had rounds of 73 and 75 and her 148 edged out fellow Langley golfer, Chaewon Baek , who shot a 149.

They were competing for the girls U15 title and were part of a field of 80 junior golfers competing in seven divisions at the Maple Leaf Junir Golf Tour’s Lindsay Kenney Classic.

The two-day tournament was held at Langley’s Pagoda Ridge Golf Course on May 6 and 7.

Surrey’s Susan Xiao, 15, took top spot in the girls’ 15-18 division with a two-day score of 140. She won by eight strokes over Surrey’s Kate Choi.

In the peewee boys division, 11-year-old Justin Bjornson (Surrey) shot a 71-72—143 to win by 10 strokes over Vancouver’s William Tu.

Bailey Bjornson (Surrey) made it two titles for the family as the 13-year-old won the bantam boys division with consecutive rounds of 70. He won by four strokes over Burnaby’s Andy Luo.

Richmond’s Michael Crisologo, 16, and Coquitlam’s William Tindle were tied after 18 holes after each shooting a 74. Both golfers were under part in round two with Crisologo’s 69 giving him a two-stroke victory.

Seventeen-year-old Samuel Su (Surrey) won the junior boys category with a 71-70—141, seven shots ahead of Richmond’s Fritz Lo.

And in the collegiate men’s division, North Vancouver’s Tyler LeClair, 20, won by three strokes over Abbotsford’s Seowon Chang. LeClair shot 74-75—149.
