The U10 North Langley Devils took top spot in the Vernon Summer Classic, despite being two years younger than their competition.

Playing against competition two years their senior? That was no problem at all for the U10 North Langley Devils.

The Devils defeated the U12 Kamloops Crushers 7-1 in the championship finals of the Vernon Summer Classic, which was held at DND Fields in Vernon on May 31 and June 1.

North Langley went 3-0 during the round robin portion of the tournament which advanced them directly to the semifinals, where they beat Quesnel.

The Devils, a team of nine and 10-year-old girls, are made up of Jessica Heutnik, Maya Moreno, Allyson Bartlett, Julia Clauzel, Bella Sparrow, Sam Morton, Hayley Douglas, Kayla White, Manami Ushijima and Raya Crone. Coaches are Steve Crone, Ellen Boundy and Trevor Moreno.
