Washing your hands frequently and staying home when you’re feeling ill are far more effective than facemasks in controlling the spread of a virus.

Is the virus something you’re personally worried about, or not?

There may be thousands of cases of the new coronavirus in China – but so far there are only four in Canada, and just one of those is in B.C.

Yet social media is filled with anxiety about the virus.

Provincial health authorities say the risk of spread in B.C. remains low, while people are being urged to take precautions, including simply washing their hands more often.
