VIDEO: Langley country star launches latest album at new festival

Dallas Smith headlines new Tradex event

Today (Friday) marks the release of country music superstar Dallas Smith’s latest album. And to celebrate its launch, there’s going to be a party of sorts soon, with the Walnut Grove resident front and centre.

It’s the Winter Break Up Country Music Festival, and Smith calls it a hometown celebration for the release of his new self-titled album.

Smith is one of the most celebrated artists in Canadian country music, having amassing 18 Canadian gold-certified singles, four Canadian gold-certified albums, and seven Canadian platinum-certified singles along with more than 500 million combined streams to date.

Smith is also a multiple JUNO and Canadian Country Music award winner, and he will be headlining the music festival at Tradex in Abbotsford on Saturday, Nov. 18. The event runs 4 p.m. to 1 a.m.

He will be joined at the one-night festival by The Reklaws, featuring siblings Jenna and Stuart Walker, as well as local talent such as Dane Bateman, Zach McPhee, and The Millenials.

Tickets for next month’s festival are available online through www.tradexbc.com while available.

This latest country music festival follows on the heels of a similar event this past spring.

In addition to the country music, the festival includes food, games, a 19-plus VIP area, and a post-concert afterparty.

Langleyites recently saw the hometown star offer a free concert in conjunction with the Pros Vs Joes Celebrity Home Run Derby last month. It was a cause close to Smith’s heart, because it helps raise awareness about mental health, trauma, and addictions.

He has already released a few singles from his upcoming album, including Fixer Upper and CRZY.
