Food Truck Wars are returning to Langley for the third year in a row for a weekend of great food, live entertainment, and local artisan market.

The event is slated to take place Friday afternoon and all day Saturday and Sunday at Kwantlen Polytechnic University, from April 19 to 21.

Jason Faria and his wife, Kat King, organize the food truck gatherings in many different municipalities.

“After last year’s incredible experience, we’re battling it out again to award your favourite food truck champions,” Faria said.

New this year, the Greater Vancouver Food Truck Festival is partnering with KPU’s brew lab for site-wide beer and wine service.

“We’d love to share our free kids zone with everyone which includes, characters, bouncey houses, face painting, and chalk stations,” Faria added.

The event will also have its free shuttle service operating from various locations. It will start running 15 minutes before opening and run until 15 minutes after closing.

“We love food, we love local, we love bringing people together for experiences that become memories that last,” Faria commented.

“The Greater Vancouver Food Truck Festival is about providing the community with an opportunity to enjoy great food in a fun and interactive manner.”

The festival runs from 3 to 9 p.m. on Friday, 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Saturday, and until 8 p.m. on Sunday.

This year, awards presented are: Best Meat Sweats, Best Between the Bun, Best Vegetarian/Plant-Based, Sweetest Treats, Best International Fusion, Best Classic, Best in Show, and People’s Choice (by vote online).

“We are a product of our community and work with great people such as Discover Langley City, KPU, KPU Alumni, Heppells Potatoes, and the Langley Rams Football Club,” Faria commented.

KPU’s Langley campus is located at 20901 Langley Bypass.
