Lisa Farquharson began her career with Black Press in 1998 as an advertising sales associate with the Langley Times. While she left the Times in 2005, to take on other positions within the company, she remained a Langley resident. And in 2015, she returned to work again in her hometown community of Langley, this time as publisher. She has held positions with Black Press national sales, as well as publisher for other various Black Press publications. She is now publisher of the Langley Advance Times, as well as Aldergrove Star and the REW Fraser Valley.

Roxanne Hooper has been in the newspaper industry since age 15, starting her career right here in Langley – at the then Langley Advance. While having worked for newspapers in Abbotsford, Mission, Maple Ridge-Pitt Meadows, and Kamloops, she has a strong passion for sharing stories about the people in her hometown of Langley and was excited to return to the local team in 2006, as a reporter. She has since taken over the leadership role in the newsroom, and looks forward to hearing from you about your local story ideas.

Matthew Claxton is a CCNA- and BCYCNA-award winning reporter. Raised in Langley, he has covered the news here for most of his 20-year career, with a focus on local politics, crime, and homelessness.

Award-winning reporter and photographer Heather Colpitts has spent her career working at community newspapers, starting in 1992. Her passion for sharing stories took her around Western Canada, including Bonnyville, Alta., Prince Rupert, 100 Mile House, and most recently Langley – since 2008.

Shaulene Burkett started in the media industry in 1997. She has spent her career working with various publications throughout the Lower Mainland, both as an advertising consultant and manager. Her current responsibilities include advertising manager for her hometown paper, the Langley Advance Times, as well as the Aldergrove Star, Real Estate Weekly – Abbotsford, Mission and Langley – and all national real estate.

Sherri Hemery brought a great deal of experience in circulation with her when she joined Black Press Media team about seven years ago. She’s worked in the newspaper circulation field for 33 years in the Lower Mainland, and is anxious to ensure that readers in our catchment area receive their copy of the Langley Advance Times each Wednesday and Friday.
